running without air filter?
Morning all,
this might be a completely idiotic thing to say in this forum. So I hope it doesn't offend the die hard bikers, but please bear in mind I have little to know knowledge and im here to learn.
can I ride my bike without the air filter in? the reason I ask, and I offer this at the risk of being labelled a poser, it sounds Awesome.
also, if I take the baffles out the exhaust will this de restrict the engine in anyway? or is it more likely to make the engine less responsive through lack of back pressure?
Many thanks
Mark

Running with no filter will seriously damage your engine

Re: running without air filter?
Bikes of old ran with very little filtration, I also doubt it will seriously damage your engine. You will probably get increased bore wear but you won't notice much.
The only thing you'll probably get is poor running as the manufacturer designed the bike to be fitted with an air filter
Regards

It can damage your engine as its taking in dust and particles then engine is designed too use a filter I'd reccomened you use the standard setup but you can use a k&n style if tuned up s little
